Animal Kingdom Lodge Review & Trip Report
We are back in New England (sigh no more humidity lol) and ready to share our recent Walt Disney World experiences with you. As always, the trip seemed to fly by but we did feel like we did quite a bit even though the crowd levels were way more than we anticipated.
Things we loved:
Animal Kingdom Lodge (full “unlocking” review coming soon) but as a quick overview,
The vibe reminded us of the Polynesian Village, quiet or as our teenager described as “chill”
The easy check-in process : For the first time, we utilized the app to check into our resort and bypass the front desk. It was so simple and seamless.
Navi River Journey. Finally got to experience the attraction. It is visually beautiful and exactly how we envisioned it to be.
Flight Of Passage is still as cool as we remembered.
Dino Land USA is underrated and definitely our kid’s favorite area! (They were really bummed that PrimEvil Whirl was not open though..)
Festival of the Lion King truly a broadway style show. The tumbling monkeys are the best!
FAVORITE MOMENTS
- Sitting on the porch and watching the animals on the Savana
- When our 12 year old stopped me to enjoy the queue at Dinosaur, “Mom this is the best part”
- During the safari, an ostrich chased our van again
- The family made me face my fear and see the Gorilla but when we arrived he was in a corner sleeping. Thank you to the Gods above LOL
- Tapping Magic Bands
A few things that we learned:
- Our kids LOVE just hanging out in the resort. (also overheard another parent say this while there). Next time we definitely need to include more resort days.
- Always be prepared for crazy even cold weather in February- I already knew this but entrusted those weather apps too much before leaving/packing for this trip
- Flying with Spirit is fine but watch out for the baggage fees as they add up quickly
- Switching hotels during the trip is a good way to check out new
Thanks For Listening
