Disney For First Timers (How to do it right!)
On this episode of Unlocking the Magic, we are going to share everything we think you need to know about going to Walt Disney World for the first time.
- Do your research and make a “general” plan. Study the park maps, rides and layout. Listen to the Unlocking Episodes to understand the significance of some of the attractions. That said, don’t plan your vacation minute to minute. Walt Disney World is huuuuuge, you can’t expect to do it all and even the best-detailed plan needs flexibility
- Ignore crowd calendars and Be prepared to wait. Don’t let it ruin your fun.
- Include some adult time. All meals don’t have to be character-based, it doesn’t always have to be about princesses and princes.
- Plan rest days. Not sure why this one is so hard to follow when planning bc so many people tell us they wish they did it.
- Unless you don’t have any kids, don’t plan on going to the parks on arrival day. So many people that I talk to think they will do this but end up not being able to or just being to exhausted from traveling to go to a park.
- If you want to bypass the long lines into the parks, try not to bring bags.
- First timers should always stay on property to get the full experience. If you’re a huge Disney fan than moderate level is fine if you need convincing that Disney is awesome, moderate level and deluxe is best.
- Rope drop at least one park in your trip plans
- Plan two days in the magic kingdom.
- Double check the info before your trip as things are always changing.
- Remember that Disney Springs is not a theme park but it’s still pretty cool.
- Don’t forget your packing list. The essentials on there are comfy shoes and sunscreen
