Unlocking Disney’s Jungle Cruise
Today we head off to adventure, leaving civilization behind to Unlock one of our most favorite and iconic attractions, The Jungle Cruise.
The original attraction opened on July 17, 1955, at Disneyland Park and based on Disney’s award-winning True-Life Adventure films. When it opened, the Jungle Cruise was not exactly the silly light-hearted attraction that it is today. Later on, in the 1960s, Walt Disney finally introduced more drama and asked animator Marc Davis to sketch funny gags which now makes for some surprises on every trip.
On the show, we talk all about the cool history that brought this attraction to life, the incredible horticulture that surrounds the cruise and of course, we had to do a “Would You Rather”- Jungle Cruise in Walt Disney World OR Disneyland.
Things to listen for:
Things we love about the cruise..
- The Skippers. If you don’t agree “you’re in De’Nile”
- Hilarious names of the boats “Conga Connie”
- The Temple (at WDW)
- Those auto animatronic alligators
- Christmas time overlay “Jingle Cruise”
Thanks For Listening
