On this week’s YouTube episode, we round up all five of Walt Disney World’s moderate resorts and rank them based on the pool, room sizes, amenities and overall vibe.
#5. The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campgrounds
If this is what Disney considers roughing it, we will take it! Lol! All kidding aside, this is a great frontier themed resort that offers so much family fun in addition to that Disney magic we all know so well. That said, being New Englanders, we have been fortunate to live closeby to areas that offer this type of experience so when traveling to Walt Disney World this is not our first choice moderate resort as we yearn for an escape.
#4. Port Orleans Riverside
This resort seems to offer two very different vibes, the fancy large Mansions of Magnolia Bend to the Cottages of the Alligator Bayou.
Both offer a great experience but again as New Englanders we found that the cottage areas did not give us that full Disney escape that we had hoped for. That said, the areas along the Magnolia Bend were gorgeous and if you utilize the water transportation to Disney Springs, this makes for a great stay.
#3. Caribbean Beach
The tropical island themed resort is always a great choice when choosing a moderate resort and now with the Skyliner it becomes a must visit.
The awesome Fuentes del morro pool and the multiple sandy areas along the resort makes you submerged in a true island getaway.
Full disclosure: the only reason why we occasionally have trouble staying here is because it reminds us too much of our all time ultimate choice resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village.
#2. Port Orleans French Quarter
One of disney’s smallest resorts, this one has that quaint French Quarter feel we love. With the wrought iron balconies and brick walkways there is an incredibly magical feel throughout this resort. The only difficult choice for us is the fact that their rooms do not sleep families of five making it for an expensive stay. But on a positive note, beignets for days!
#1. Coronado Springs Resort
While it is one of the largest and we hear a lot of people say that it’s the least “magical feeling resort” (meaning there’s not a lot of Disney in the theming) we find that this one still tops the list for the most luxury feel in any moderate level resort.
