Walt Disney World vs Universal Part 2
In this episode of Unlocking The Magic, we gear up for another round of Universal versus Disney! This time, we discuss everything from the dining options (even the pizza!), nighttime shows, and parades.
Wait until the end of the show when we put Disney’s Hollywood Studios verse Universal Studios in a head to head battle! Which one would you rather?
CITY WALK VS DISNEY SPRINGS
City Walk
In Universal has a cool vibe and tons of interesting places to eat (hello Voodoo donuts!) but one deterrent for us has always been the parking situation- you must pay to park. We would much rather use that money for food, souvenirs, or pretty much anything else.
Disney Springs
Not only offers free parking but we find it appeals to a broader range of people. Depending on your mood and time of day that you visit it can be a great place to see some great entertainment or even unwind.
Mythos restaurant Tangerine Cafe VS Tangerine Cafe
Mythos
A quick-service restaurant in Universals Island Of Adventure offers a great array of Mediterranean foods. While we did not love the overall food options at Universal, this one was delicious and pretty reasonably priced.
Tangerine Cafe
Inside Epcot is always a must-do for us. The Mediterranean quick service is a nice break from the heavy type foods you might find elsewhere at the park and gives us just the right amount of energy needed to continue the day.
We always order an assortment of dishes such as the falafel and taboule so that we can all try all the different flavors. It is just the right amount of food to keep us satisfied and not feel guilty about diving into the deserts in France afterward.
Louis Italian Restaurant vs Pizza Rizzo
Louis Italian Restaurant
In Universal Studios offers slices and whole pizza pies to share. While the pizza is definitely not out of this world delicious it is usually something the entire family can enjoy and then move on quickly which definitely goes a long way in our opinion.
Pizza Rizzo
Inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a quick-service Italian eatery, offers pizza subs and salads. Even though we aren’t crazy about eating theme park pizza, this restaurant is almost always on our agenda as it is pretty quick and average price for the amount of food you get.
Mels Drive-In vs Prime Time Cafe
Mels Drive-In is a must-visit even just to take photos in front of the cool, vintage cars. The restaurant itself is a 50’s diner offering burgers and fries in a neat setting.
Prime Time Cafe
In Hollywood Studios provided the perfect comfort setting after a long day at the park. Is there anything better than relaxing in grandmas kitchen while she cooks you a great meal?
The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle VS Happily Ever After
The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle
Inside Universal’s Island of Adventure, is an illuminated projection and music show on the castle.
Happily Ever After
Continues to evoke emotion even after seeing it so many times. The projection show on Cinderella Castle plus music (they even say Unlock The Magic!) makes everyone in our family light up.
